Jon, 1. Concur with Mark Dvorscak that unfortunately you will need to remove the boat from the trailer. 2. Do you know how long your pendant lasted? a. I am curious as I sewed a pendant w/o the eye splice. (1) See slide 42 of my power point posted on facebook listed under the files tab of Montgomery Sailboat site. (2) I was frustrated with my skills at creating a tight bowline and living with a small portion of the centerboard exposed. I opted to sew an eye splice. (3) I am planning on removing my boat annually from the trailer to monitor the pendant and observe the biological growth on the centerboard in the trunk. Luckily, it happened on the trailer. What is the recommended method for replacement? Can I do it by lowering the board with boat in the water? The old pendant had an eye splice without a thimble. That's where it parted. It was attached to a shackle. I think it was a racelite shackle. Thanks for your help, Jon Barber Montgomery17 Ol'44
