Hi Scott.
Congratulations to you and your family on finding a truly terrific
sailboat. If you decide to lower the mast and put a tarp over the
mast and boat for the winter, be sure to block-up/support the middle of the mast
so that any major snow or ice load does not permanently bend the
mast.

Hello, my folks just bought a Montgomery 17 but have put me in
charge of her since they don't know how to sail. We'll sail the Little Duck on
a small lake in northern MN. The Little Duck is hull 266 and eventually we're
going to fix the electrical, water and head systems so we'll be using this
site frequently. My first question? with winter coming on can the boat be
stored on the trailer with mast and rigging still up? What are the possible
problems of doing this? We do plan on covering her. I appreciate your
responses. Thanks. Scott Golden.
