I've used the plastic quart containers for years on my little motors and like them. Very neat and easy to store. BUT..if it is rough you will be spilling fuel. It takes very little gas on a hot engine to vaporize and catch on fire. I had a 3hp Johnson catch on fire on the first pull after spilling maybe 1 oz of fuel during rough weather. I actually unscrewed the engine and dunked it into the water to put the fire out. It was a chinese fire drill but worked. The white engine paint was a little scorched but otherwise all I had to do was get the water out of the carb...it was running 15-20 minutes later. This happened to me 40+ yrs ago and still has my careful attention when refueling. This is a good case for copper fuel lines and metal parts under the cowl (kind of hard to get these days). The ideal setup would be to tee in (with bi-pass valves) an outboard tank hose pigtail with connector and backfill the engine tank that way...or a tank cap with attachments to do the same.
