Hey there, Tyler. I have no experience with hoists (though have been interested in the hoist at Avila Beach since there is no ramp there either) though remember when I repainted the bottom of my Montgomery 15, and based on recommendations from this group, I lifted from the rear holes on the "chain plate" brackets the shrouds connect to. That left the boat a little stern-heavy so I needed something to provide a little bit of support to hold the stern up. Although loads for this purpose were almost static compared to what might be somewhat dynamic loads on a hoist, it worked well. I suppose this same approach could work with a hoist. The hoist is a single point (hook). Does anyone here have any experience or suggestions on what type of lifting bridle or sling I could use for an M15? Would it be okay to lift by the chainplates, or should I plan on straps that go under the hull? Sincerely, Tyler '81 M15 #157 Defiant
