Welcome to the crew, Wayne. I saw my first Montgomery, an M15, in our marina in 2007, when I was looking for a boat to enhance my retirement. By blind luck I found a 2-year-old M17 for sale barely 15 miles from my house. Debated for about 30 seconds and bought it on the spot. Still love it and sail as often as possible, in fact I was out yesterday. Wayne,
It's nice to have you aboard!! You'll love the Monty. I live on the east coast and when I saw my first Monty, I wanted one too. The closest I could find was KY. One phone call later, I was making plans for a road trip and I've never looked back. I'm sure you and the grand kids will make many memories on you new purchase.
Best of luck!

Hello everyone.
I just started sailing last summer. Just a little.
Bought a small open bow 14 footer built for 2. It was full of holes and a mess. Had it in the garage thru the winter, fixed it all up and painted it. It turned out really nice, but almost instantly I wanted a little bigger boat. Something to take my grand kids out on.
I saw a Montgomery for the first time a couple weeks ago and fell in love with it.
I live in Alaska and soon found out there was only a handful up here.
I just couldn't believe it when one showed up on Craigslist yesterday.
It's in my driveway now and I couldn't be more excited.
