Did you really, really lose the mast, like it's on the bottom of the bay? (I've deposited a batten in the bottom of a lake so far, but no masts yet...) If you've got the bits left, you could get all your measurements from the ends, with the possible exception of overall length. Most people find overhanging wires and limbs at the ramp to be the most efficient way to lunch a mast. The resulting L shaped item still leaves a lot that can be measured from. Measuring from the original would be the surest way to get everything in the right place for your boat, as well. Cheers Steve Tyree, P-15 #2098
