Good idea.  I'm sure the forum readers will be very interested in your experiments.  I intend to do the same with our Potter 15 this year.

You might consider testing the effect of running floatation up the mast as part of your experiment.  Even ten pounds of floatation at the end of such a long lever arm should make an appreciable difference.
