The leads on my M17 are wood, a stuff called lignum vitae, mounted with brass u-bolts . . . Yeah, I'm a freak. http://www.woodenboat.org/store/folder_alternate.asp?f=303 I led the reefing line up and over the cabin-top, to starboard, inside the grabrail, to a cleat . . . Works fine, but I've seen others lead theirs along the toe-rail, to starboard, to a cleat on the coaming . . . The toe-rail route seems less obtrusive and may be more convenient. If no, how's the operation without such? If yes, what type of fairlead did you use and where did you mount them? What sort of cleat did you use for the reefing/furling line, and where did you mount it? I'll be rigging my CDI FF1 this weekend or next, and would prefer to learn from the experience of others, instead of certainly replicating others' (or even inventing new) mistakes!
