Yeah, I was small jib and first reef in main on Tuesday, pretty strong winds. Wednesday was full main and "cruising" jib (the big one :-). As I was heading back in close to 6 pm it picked up some more in the gusts and I was a bit overpowered, but I was going in anyway so just luffed it along... I was there Monday, but busy elsewhere until mid-afternoon - there was some kind of a front coming through, crazy windy on Monday, gusts everywhere (driving and in campground as well as on lake, small branches blowing off trees, dust clouds off the farms, etc.) so I didn't even go out. cheers, John S. I stayed at Richardson County Park when I sailed on Fern Ridge back in July 2011. Yes, a great facility and very nice staff.
Reads like you had great wind most of the time. My visit the winds were very light ... fun but wish i'd had a bit more.

Hi all,
Thanks for the info on Fern Ridge reservoir (near Eugene, OR) from all who responded, and in particular Larry who did meet up with us there with his sweet little M15. He was there Sunday but I got there later than planned and only got launched and to my slip. Tuesday we were out sailing in the afternoon in brisk winds on a warm sunny day. It is a great sailing lake - probably the longest reaches without constant trimming that I've had with my boat since getting it about a year ago! Wednesday was calmer winds - glassy for a while early afternoon - and I got to use the "cruising" jib for only the second time.
Richardson county park marina & campground is a very nice facility - friendly staff & clean modern everything for the most part. Sleeping on one's boat in a slip is cheaper than a campsite by $10+ a night with access to all the same amenities (including hot showers).
Will post a few pics shortly...
cheers, John S.
