Thanx Todd, We've had similar reliability with our Honda's. We were working with Jerry last weekend on the Sage design. He sure is a pleasure to work with. He wants to put a lazerette at the back of the cockpit for the exterior tank. He's planning a vertical bulkhead to separate the lazerette from the interior and use small vents high on the stern for ventilation. We'll be shopping for an outboard for the Sage and I think a Honda like yours is the ticket. sal In a message dated 5/1/2010 2:13:42 P.M. Runs great, almost always starting on the first pull. It would be nice if it weighed less. There is a reverse throttle limit, which one time in a weedy slip made it difficult to back out, and initially the thing was supplied with shear pins that were too weak, but that issue was cleared up with the latest batch of shear pins I bought which are stronger. I have the optional lower pitch blade, which is an improvement over the standard, although probably still higher pitch than optimum. I'd buy it again. Hey Todd,
Thanx for the visual. had me laughing out loud.
I'm partial to Honda outboards (and snow throwers). How does that 5 do for you? Is it the long shaft model? External tank? Any problems?
