Sounds like fun skipper Where in Catalina are you going? Avalon? Twin Harbors? Do you pick op moorings? If I can get the Pelican launched in time I would like to throw in with you Capt'n James Sadler skipper sailing vessel Pelican M-15 On Tue, May 13, 2008 at 9:34 AM, <Nebwest2@aol.com> wrote:
Joe and Matt,
Consider joining us for a sail out to Catalina next month. A couple of Monty's will be joining the Socal Potters group for a trip out to Catalina June 18th through the 21st. We will be leaving from the Alamitos/Long Beach area. Should be a great trip. I'm really looking forward to it. Love to see a few more Montys show up and re-enforce our numbers! (there's always a fun rivalry between the Potter and Monty guys). We (Dauntless) will be showing up on the 16th or 17th and getting a slip for a day or two. Everyone will meet up at Davies Launch Ramp on the morning of the 18th for the sail over.
That invite goes to any other Montys that can get out there and join us too.
Keep in mind that you (your skills) and your boat need to be ready for the trip. Catalina is a little over 20 miles offshore. This is not a sanctioned trip by any formal group....in other words you need to be able to fend for yourself. Of course the group help each other out if someone has a problem, but any sailor knows, the amount of help may be limited by other crews dealing with their own issues.
Hope to see some of you over there.
