Morning Maria, The P18 reportedly is a good sailer, well built and affordable. I'm afraid it just doesn't have the storage capacity necessary for any cruising beyond an occassional overnighter. I still want to see it for myself. And I agree, it's obvious the M17 is a better boat. I sincerely appreciate your offer to view your M17. Unfortunately I won't have time to drive down to Miami on this trip to Florida. Perhaps we can coordinate a viewing at a future date. I would like to ask your opinion. Does the M17 have enough storage and room for two adults to spend up to three nights on the hook in reasonable comfort? I'm 6'1" @ 225 and my wife is 5'4" @ 135, we're both soon to be 62 but in good physical condition, and very young at heart. Our desire is to be able to explore the ICW and occasionally sail outside on longer legs(weather pending). Our idea is to spend up to three nights on the hook, then seek a marina/motel to freshen up, and sail on. We don't intend to move aboard, but taking off for several weeks seems to be a reasonable expectation, and should be most rewarding. Comments, suggestions always welcome...we aren't thin skinned.... John: I am in Miami and would be happy to show you my M17. By the way, I also had a Precision 18; nice boat but no comparison. Maria Jorge

Greetings, We joined this listing thinking we might locate an M17 owner in the southeastern section of the states that might allow us to view their boat. We have not seen an M17. We are also hoping to locate a clean used M17 for sale. We realize living here in northeastern Alabama isn't the best place to shop for a sailboat, especially a west coast build boat like the M17. But you never know till you make an effort. I have approximately 5 years sailing experience, primarily on larger sailboats. However, we are retiring this year at 62 and hope to relocate to the Charleston SC area. And of course, we want to do some serious sailing while we can. Any information will be appreciated. I will be heading to the Tampa Florida area next friday to view a Precision 18. If there are any M17 owners' nearby or on the northwest Gulf coast, I'd love to see your boat!
