Andrei, In the San Juans (and elsewhere for 20 years) we used a Sevylor Tahiti, which accommodated two people and a dog for shore excursions. They may not be as fast as a plastic kayak, but I paddled many a mile in the Sea of Cortez, and felt very secure. They tow fine, but big gusts can lift and flip them like any inflatable, so we let some air out and stored it in our cabin while underway. Hi all,
last year when I went to the Apostle Islands I towed a hard-shell, sit on top kayak behind my M-17, and used it to explore around the islands (and I could've used it as a dinghy to go to shore if I wanted to). This year I may take my son with me, so I need something which seats two. I was looking at inflatable kayaks, like the Sea Eagle 330. Does anyone have experience with inflatable kayaks, how well they tow, and recommendations for which one to buy?
Thanks,
Andrei.
