Jeremy: the galley is too tall and wide to slide under the cockpit combing and cockpit 'as is'. if you removed the current unit much modification would be necessary. IMO before you remove the galley make up a cardboard version of what you would like and see if you can make it work using the starboard 1/4-berth as a test 'slide-area'. :: Dave Scobie :: M17 #375 - SWEET PEA - www.m17.375.webs.com :: Sage Marine - www.sagemarine.us --- On Sun, 2/20/11, Bowman, Jeremy <JeremyBowman@my.unt.edu> wrote: I asked about this in a previous post but it was mixed with another subject. I'm interested in altering the galley unit on Griselda. My idea is to use a dremel tool or something to trace around where the galley attaches to the hull, leaving the lower part to build a seating area into. Then i'd like to put the upper part on a track to slide it below the cockpit when I want to use the bunk, or pull it back for using the galley. That way, day sails would be more comfortable with more people, but during extended cruises or overnighting, i could use the galley. Does anyone have any thoughts about this idea?
