Thomas, Can you tell me which of the original newsletters are missing from your collection? I can look to see if I have them. My memory is fuzzy but I thought I had them all at one time. Mark Dvorscak M23 Faith On Fri, Jan 3, 2020, 08:55 Thomas Howe <Thomas@thomashoweonline.com> wrote:
Thanks, Dave, I'll get them scanned and send them to you. I'm missing a couple, but not too many. The winch will see duty in the Northern Hemisphere, and they would have sold me just the bronze base and core, with new pawls and springs, but for the difference I just bit the bullet and replaced everything.

Thomas.
I'd say the scaned PDFs, thanks SO MUCH fir sharing, should go onto MSOGphotosite and Facebook. If you share the PDFs with me I'll post them on Facebook. I can do the same for MSOGphotosite if you like.
Great news you were able to source a winch part for the southern hemisphere!

I believe that I have a number of the old pre- digital printed Montgomery newsletters, and I am planning to scan and post. Where would you like to see them? I am a FaceBookPhobe, but that seems like a place where we can have a repository of documents. On the last day of my sailing season, and on the last act before she went onto the trailer, my sailing buddy raised the centerboard, and then was startled to have the winch fall to the cabin floor. The Nylon base of the Arco 6 failed, and sheared off it's mounting plate. I corresponded with Hutton-Arco of Australia, and secured a new replacement, which unlike any of the other replacements that I looked at, has a bronze base and core, instead of Nylon. The purchase process was simple, except for the time that it took to get here from the antipodes. I'll report on it's operation sometime into 2020. BTW, I am in favor of the status quo in regards to the mailing list, if it ain't broke..... Thomas Howe Osprey II, 1985 Montgomery 17 #666
