RE: M_Boats: M-17 aux. motor

I might note that my 1972 Tartan 26, 5,300# displ has a 5 hp auxiliary. Later boats were supplied with a 7 hp. I think the 5 hp has about as much power as could possibly be needed on the 17 and the vast majority of the time a 2 hp would be sufficient. Busca's former owner had both a 5 and an 8 on her and observed that the 8 was enough to make her float funny.
