I'm sure that isn't going to happen in all conditions, but it's getting to the point where if it doesn't have a "J" on the sail or something like that, I'm disappointed if she doesn't pass them. ;-) Tod
'Nuf said? If you want to test your boat speed (and your sailing skills) find yourself a local racing fleet and join them. However, don't assume that every boat you pass on Sunday afternoon is a slower boat or that you're the cat's meow to sailing. I've raced a 15 in PHRF and Portsmouth fleets, and it's got great speed for it's size. And, I raced against some against flush deck M-17's years ago that kicked butt on much larger boats in a tough fleet. However, contrary to the saying about "two boats on the water and you have a race" there are a whole lot of folks who are just out there just to be out there and have their boats trimmed accordingly. It's no secret that the M's take the small boat races wherever they go. But, before you assume you can beat 30+ Beneteaus every day of the week find one who is actually racing and not one that you passed while it was out for a day sail Steve
