Pete, I wanted to do the same and did. I sail our M-15 by myself 90% of the time and being able to handle all the lines from the cockpit is great! I found it awkward to let go of the tiller long enough to handle lines at the mast. My brother had a box of spare boat hardware he gave to me for the job. The thing that I did that was a bit different was to loop the main and jib halyards so that I could both raise and lower the main and jib from the cockpit. By using a loop for the halyards I don't collect a lot of rope in the cockpit. Our M-15 came setup with a down-haul line for the jib, so that part was easy. For the main the trick was where to attach the down-line. I tried attaching it to the metal bracket at the top of the sail but it bound when pulling downward. Best location turned out to be at about the 2 nd sail slug from the top. This line is also handy for reefing the main. Randy G. So, what is the best way to do it on an M15. Hardware and Stuff!
