Hi Connie, Thank You. I 'prefer' to sail with the tide, it's just that sometimes the tide's not coming back in until the wee ours (find your anchorage in the dark) and your guests, from another country, would like to get to their rooms before midnight. No motor at all is ideal for me (no noise). I also have a 1940 Snipe (15.5 ft racing sailor) that has 'never' seen an auxiliary. Just my 02 cents, Gordon ----- Original Message ----- From: <chbenneck@juno.com> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, May 03, 2004 2:53 PM Subject: Re: M_Boats: M-17 aux. motor
Hi Gordon,
You very neatly show that the motor has to match the conditions!
A 2 HP Honda won't hack it against a strong ebb tide, and maybe a 6 HP won't either............!
That's where low powered vessels learn to "sail with the tide".
Connie
