Howard: West Marine now has LED trailer lights. They are COMPLETELY sealed and shouldn't corrode. I put truck LED tail lights on my trailer--would have gone with the West Marine ones but they didn't have them at that time. LED lights cost a little more, about $50 a pair, but should last as long as the trailer I think. --Gary On Thursday, January 29, 2004, at 03:22 AM, Howard Audsley wrote:
The tires on my trailer are a set of $30 Douglas radials from Walmart. They came with the rig when I got it a few years back. They have made at least one trip from the Midwest to the west coast, and two trips to the Chesapeake (1,600 miles round trip). They still look good.
The trailer lights are another matter. I rewired the whole rig last spring...new lights and all....and two dunkings (launch and retrieval) in salt water did them in. The lights have already corroded out. The damage salt water can do is amazing.

Methinks the tires are radials, and W-M's tire & wheel sets are bias ply.
Look at page 658 in the 2003 West Catalog. They offer Goodyear Radials on a variety of rims.
