| Your hosts have been 'busy' this year, but things have settled in to normal and we are ready for the Second Annual Lake Pleasant Winter Messabout Photo from 2019 event - The Second Annual Lake Pleasant Winter Messabout will convene at the same location as 2019 -Lake Pleasant Arizona - Fireman's Cove area, on February 15th 2020! All small human/sail powered craft to 20 feet are invited! No one is 'enforcing' this so if you are a bit larger...meh? - One participant will be sailing a 7 footer! Rudder Question

My Monty 17, #44 was equipped with the 2 pintle gudgeon set up, making approaches to shore and shallow water very interesting. When the rudder hits bottom, your first reaction is to go to the transom, putting extra weight on the stuck rudder. You can try to pull the pins and unship the whole affair or jump into the water and deal with the predicament you now find yourself in. A ruddercraft rudder/ mast raising system became available at a reasonable price and resides on my transom permanently. No more shipping and unshipping at every launch/retrival. No more looking for somewhere to put the 6' mahogany plank in my truck. Life got easier. Anything you eliminate at launch/retrival gets you in the water and sailing sooner and with less effort. I'm there to sail, not mess around with gear. How many flush deck 17's were built. I found the sales brochure on Shorty Pen and fell in love all over again. What a beautiful boat! Salish 100

FWIW I counted ten M17s, three M15s, and 2 M16s signed up for the Salish 100 this summer. No Sages. I only recognize a few of the names. Any on this list? For comparison, out of 135 entries, the next largest group/type is the Scamp with ten registered. There are six Potters and five Pelicans. Rudder Question

So,,,, every picture I’ve seen of the stock rudders has the 3 pintle strap configuration. My stern is set up for 2. The stock rudder I bought also has three. Now I’m asking myself, should I relocate two on my rudder, or modify my stern for 3. I have to assume that if my M17 is original, there is a reason for having 3 on the newer generation? My M-15 Vanilla is listed on the Salish 100 page but is for sale, I will be taking my new SCAMP instead. (It fits in my tiny garage, the M15 doesn’t!)
