Hi Alex, I think it’s too early for me to compare. My first time out was totally about learning the boat and especially the balanced lug. I liked sailing it, but I was really nervous starting off. Too many stories of capsizes running through my head! The systems on it are a bit fiddle to me, mostly because I have Vanilla so dialed. I’m taking it out from Everett again in two days on Thursday so I’ll have a bit more experience then. Anyone who is available and wants to bring a boat down should join me and come sailing! Good weather

Same for me, Mark...finally! I had absolutely perfect weather for the maiden voyage of my new SCAMP. I wish I could have had my M15 with me so I could compare both boats in the same conditions. It’s so hard to tell unless you can hop from boat to boat. I do know I didn’t want to get off the water! Perfect reaching conditions back and forth in the lee of Jetty Island off of Everett. Wind gradually built as my confidence improved, until I finally put one reef in. Not too many asshole powerboats to deal with. Great conditions for a shakedown! No whales though, sadly. It's the time of year when you *know* you should go sailing, when you there's only a few more days (like this) that you even *can* go sailing, when everything is all ready and packed up TO go sailing, and yet, you don't go sailing, because, it's cold out, or it *should* be cold out, and there's leaves on the ground, and you've sailed so much this summer that you just don't *want* to go sailing, even though you know you *should want* to go sailing and you even wished you *wanted* to go sailing, but you don't.... Been incredibly frustrating weather. Pendulum swinging from flat calm and rain (like today) to gusting to over 25 and small craft advisories (like yesterday). Still haven’t been able to get my new SCAMP on the water for a maiden voyage, and Vanilla sits under her cover waiting to see if I sell her or keep her. 😕 This weather is driving me insane!
