Randy and All, Coming from years of field service in the UPS power supply business, I can attest to the performance and longevity of AGM batteries. They will easily last 5 years IF floated correctly (charged at no more than a tenth of it's amp-hour rating and a cut-off voltage of 14.1 VDC) and assuming the battery from a quality manufacturer was purchased. The brands I used and recommended are: C + D Dynasty (Johnson Control) Yuasa-Enersys Panasonic GNB Never buy cheap batteries, or ones with old date codes. As the Brits say, it's false economy. I use a 31ah AGM in my M17, I used a group 24 in my M23. I have a 30 watt solar panel and regulator. I'm following the Lithium discussion as well, the jury is still out. They need to prove themselves in the field, where reputations are years in the making. Happy New Year, it's a chilly one here in Mn. MSOGPHOTOSITE Problems?

Is anyone else having problems opening the thumbnail photos of Skookum’s technical post “Wood Interior”? I cannot get any of the thumbnail pictures to open. I have tried using my iPad, Windows Surface tablet, and Samsung Android phone, all with the same results, so It does not appear to be a problem with any one of my devices. It does not matter if I am logged in to the site or not. The pictures appear as thumbnails as usual but when I click on any one of them it does not open the full size picture. The problem is only with the pictures posted under the topic “Wood Interior” under the technical posts of “Skookum”. All of the other pictures on Skookum’s other topics open fine, as well as everyone else’s. Thanks to Skookum for documenting this huge project so well! Great job! Hi M-sailors, Having had to swallow the anchor because of advancing age, your stories and adventures are most enjoyable reading during the year. I know that you have all been good boys and girls this year, so I'm sure that Santa will bring you the new set of sails you'd like to have; will supply the non-drag anchor for windy anchorages; will be there to lend a guiding hand when you find yourself in the "soup" for the first time and will guide you safely to your destination (fog sailing is an acquired skill along the New England coast). I'd just like to wish you all a Merry Christmas, with lots of good sailing in the coming year; with always a wind that lets you get to your destination on a broad reach; and that you always have a hand's breadth of water under your keel.
