Harbor Freight to the rescue. These are those anti-fatigue mats for a workshop floor. Laid cushions on it, traced, cut with heavy scissors. Pretty cool! It took 8 25x25 squares. Now I have an excuse to go to the boat today! I'm sure it will need fine trimming. And in a pinch,beats sleeping on fiberglass, I hardly ever have the cushions in the boat. I'm going to experiment with a piece on the cockpit bench for a little padding... Jazz

The hinges are simple ones from the hardware store. The side that attaches to the board are long and V shaped and the side that attaches to the conpanion way are narrow. You can see them if you zoom in on the picture from behind. Looking for a mast for Monty15

My '84 came with a mast from some unknown craft. It is extremely cumbersome and heavy to rig. Consequently, it prevents me from sailing, as much as I would like. Does anyone have a standard 15 mast they would like to sell? I will probably have to go to a mast supply outfit, if I cannot find one. Thanks. Bruce in Northern California.

Dinghies

I can't believe I find myself disagreeing with Connie. I don't recall that ever happening before! We've used a cheap inflatable as the dinghy for our Montgomery 15. Although I am sure it doesn't row well at all compared to a hard shell boat, it has perfectly met our needs. The best thing is we don't have to tow it around all the time. We just pull it out, blow it up in about 2 minutes with an electric inflator, put in some good after-market oars, use it, pull the oars out, deflate it with the inflator, and stow it under the port cockpit seat. We typically don't row miles at a time but we have taken fair distances, albeit in fairly calm waters. Has always worked great, unless we get lazy and try to tow it.
