Haven't been monitoring the monty list for some time. Looked at it today and saw that some folks are looking for a Monty mid country. I'm in Boulder, CO and my M17 #393 is no longer in use. I intended to put it up for sale in the spring. Please contact me at davidcpatterson(a)msn.com. I sailed this great old boat for three seasons on local lakes, including 8280 foot Lake Granby, Colorado all season before last. Didn't sail her last season, since I picked up a different boat. Fellow WrinkleBoaters, It is that time again - after a hiatus, we have again pledged to help raise funds for the Leukemia Cup Regatta that will take place in January at Lake Pleasant AZ. This year we are sailing as "Team WrinkleBoat" - we currently have commitments from approx. 9 boats for the Regatta - a fun event in which we will award the trophy(s) to a boat other than the 'fastest boat' on the course. The event has had 2 or three separate sail races - a Friday event (low key - warm-up type), Saturday has traditionally consisted of the Leukemia Cup Races -separate awards in the past, and the combination of the Saturday and Sunday racing is scored as the Arizona Yacht Club Birthday Regatta - again separate awards. We are promoting this event - 1) For the FUN of sailing with the WrinkleBoat clan, 2) In the spirit of community service to the Leukemia Cup and those who need the help. 3) For the enjoyment of spirited AND casual competition ! We are currently awaiting the posting of schedules and race format for the event and would be very happy to have any and ALL WrinkleBoats participate! We will keep you updated as the info becomes available - Dates for the event are January 13,14,15, 2012. Team WrinkleBoat will participate and is soliciting your support in the form of donations to the Leukemia Cup - Please see our event web page - we would appreciate any amount you can spare. i was reviewing the dec. Admiral Valerie, Some ideas for your Captain: If I didn't already have a handheld GPS, that would be on the top of my wish list. The garmin GPSMAP series are very popular, waterproof, and float. A handheld VHF radio is another, look at Icom and Standard Horizon for handheld floating models. Safety-wise, a throw-able life ring or horseshoe on a line attached to the boat is another idea. I have a lifesling, and, although it is rather, large to be in the cockpit of an M15, it still offers additional piece of mind in the event of a dreaded MOB situation. Life vests are a must, but the throwable on a line can help get a person overboard closer to the boat faster and out of the water faster. (Credit to GO for making me aware of this) Also sailing gloves??? Best, -Neil

We are new to the email list. We have owned our Montgomery 15 for three years. This is our first sailboat. It was love at first sight. We live near Sacramento, California. We are approximately 20 minutes from Folsom Lake http://parks.ca.gov/?page_id=500, however our favorite place to sail is Loon Lake in the high Sierra about 2 hours from our home. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loon_Lake_(California) I am looking for ideas for a creative and fun Christmas gifts for my husband that are Montgomery 15 related. One not so creative idea is an anchor. What type do we need? Also, I have looked for stylish sun hats to no avail. Any gift recommendations would be appreciated. Valerie and Kerry Gates
