Is anyone out there familiar with the Farallon 29,designed by Chuck Burns and built by East Bay Boatworks? If so please tell us as we can't find anything about performance, etc. on the web. Getting biggerboatitis! "Hula Pie" has been great so far on the S.F. Bay as long as we stay out of the "slot" in the afternoons. M17 Line drawings

Hi fellow M boaters Thanks to Jerry's generosity I have a blueprint of the original line dwgs. for the M17 designed by Lyle Hess. Jerry if you'd like I'll mail it back to you, let me know. I've finished reproducing them, and will send a copy to the MSOG Site, but first can someone tell me what format to put it in so it can be opened without a cad program. I also will be happy to mail paper copies to anyone intrested, but first need to check the cost of printing and mailing, surely not more than a couple bucks. I'll check on the cost of mailing folded copies (really cheap) and in case anyone is intrested in a un-folded copy,I'll also check on costs in mailing them rolled in tubes (slightly more expensive I would guess). This dwg. does not include the sail plan, shoal keel & centerboard, or rudder, as the dwgs. Jerry had available did not include these items. I'll measure my boat and add these to a later version, I wanted this first copy to be exactly as Lyle Hess drew it. I may be able to help with the cad conversions. I can scan drawings in, albeit in 8 1/2 x 11 inch format, and have done some sail plan studies on Potter 15s using this approach. If the drawings are too big for this, we could get them accurately reduced at a blueprint place, or scanned in from there. Incidentally, I have 10 years experience on CAD as a house designer, and can plot out D-size drawings (max 2' high, 50 yard roll. Good for very long skinny boats!) Subject: Lake Charles Messabout Sat. August 2 Come on down! The second Lake Charles Messabout will be on August 2, 2003 at the Lake Charles Yacht Club under the bridge on Lake Charles in Louisiana. The club features a launch area, sandy beaches, piers, a clubhouse with restrooms and showers, shady areas and good companionship. Activities: No scheduled activities but a lunch of hot dogs and chili will be served at about noon and an informal dinner will be served in the evening. The dinner is a Club function and was scheduled on this date in conjunction with the Messabout. Happy hour will start at about 6:00 pm with dinner following. Menu is unknown but the Bonneys always have good food! Who is invited? Anyone interested in ''Messing About in Boats''. (This includes Club members.) The grounds can be used for camping if you like and some slips are available. I suggest that participants start arriving about mid-morning but anytime is fine. If you plane to arrive early, or Friday, let me know and I'll arrange to have the gate opened. What is a messaabout? It is just a gathering of people interested in small boats, either paddle, oar, power or sail. It generally brings out home built boats but Potters, Montgomerys, Ventures, etc. are all welcome.
