What happened to the guys who put together that ABSOULTELY AMAZING Le SPectrum show in 1985?? If they know they can do stuff like that....why don't they do it more??!! Is it me? It seems like that was the pinnacle everything else after that was kind of 1/2 throw together last minute.
I thought that myself a few times. I guess back then, using all those synths and spending the time making music was in vogue while today, anyone can be the entire band with just a computer. I don't think NHBTP was rushed. I think perhaps their idea of what the music should sound like was different. Plus, it was made by just 2 of the members and not 4 plus a producer. As for the live show, I'm assuming it was just cheaper to have the 1 synth and the female backup singer. moose wrote:
i really think its down to the effort the people want to put in. notice i said 'people' and not 'musicians'. anyone can fiddle with today's workstations but not many can write decent music. there is a huge difference!
That's true. I made my own remix cd --a concept like the Orb and Pink Floyd's the Wall and even Pop Goes the world where I combined music with field recordings. BOY DID IT COME OUT BAD! :)
