I just checked my inbox after 3 months and nothing hats related, so either this list has unofficially died, or i have been taken off of it....this e-mail is a test to see which one is the case.
its still here... i've been busy doing music and copying videos...};-)
Did MWH ever perform live after their new CD release??
not heard that they did. even if they played next door i wouldn't have gone to see 'em as that last album was one cd too many.
But the live concerts are just very cheesy and synth driven to the point where the background is simply a loop and it sounds as if no real musicians are present!!! WHY IS THIS????
its easy to do. the DJ guy has a synth workstation and not many ideas so he just programs loops & ivan sings. its not too hard to take a decent setup live these days - i have a 16u flight case that we use live thats packed full of electronics - we certainly don't sound like we're using boring loops... i really think its down to the effort the people want to put in. notice i said 'people' and not 'musicians'. anyone can fiddle with today's workstations but not many can write decent music. there is a huge difference!
It seems like that was the pinnacle everything else after that was kind of 1/2 throw together last minute.
probably.
I would love to hear back from somebody in the music biz why this is the case.
see above. also, taking gear live costs money (ie transport) and smaller beat boxes can easily fit into small cases. problem is that the decent sound is compromised by doing this, and today most folks don't give a monkeys anyway. cd sales have plummeted so no-one is making money... vicious circle. }:-) email : moose@pigpendigital.com music sites : http://www.pigpendigital.com http://www.alaskahighway.com http://www.mishikawa.com
