The station is using the term "one-hit wonder" the
way the always do...to be cutesy. Paula Cole had more than one hit too,
but maybe not on the regular singles chart. I stopped after ten of the
songs because I was getting annoyed LOL. Usually the "one hit
wonder" thing bugs me because it seems to me that they are just minimizing the
strength of the song, even if it was their only hit. Dexy's Midnight
Runners is my favorite example...in the U.S., "Come on Eileen" was their only
hit, but it was one of my personal favorite songs, probably ever. In
England, they had many hits! It's very U.S.-centric and, like I said,
cutesy. About as deep as an Academy-Awards preshow red-carpet show about
who has the prettiest dress on. ;-)
I don't know about archives...there are books out
there, and I'm sure Billboard has their own archive. They have a website
(billboard.com), so maybe there are details there, but they will charge money
for access.

station's "weekend list" ...
For me, too. I'm contemplating writing to the
TV
station & tell them they were wrong. Before I get
into too
high a dudgeon, anyone know offhand if
Billboard keeps an archive online
(& how far back it
goes)?
