"basslines aren't copyrightable" - Mmmm... not sure about this. I remember years ago that it was 'eight bars'; you could sample (or otherwise rip) eight bars before infringing copyright. Of course, with a great majority of modern pop music, eight bars constitutes the entirety of the song so this doesnt really hold up anymore. I used to listen to lots of PSB too, when I was dating a girl who loved them. I must admit I prefer my electronica to be a bit more gritty; more raw less produced. I saw them live when they came to Australia some years back, and was a bit disappointed. Funny really Chris had brought his entire system along for the ride so the music was live, which was great. Except that it sounded just as produced as the CDs so I didnt see the point (typical PSB extravagance probably). Cheers

Did they say anything about the melody (bass-line) from 'Rent', which is exactly like 'Behind the Mask' by Yellow Magic Orchestra?
No but they (Chris) did say that . I wasn't sure if he meant it as a joke or not. I love Rent but I always thought how original the song sounded! Well, I guess I was wrong!
