[math-fun] Lego aperiodic monotile (AP Goucher)
Brilliantly simple! Lovable! Recently a new phase of matter was discovered. It supposedly appears amorphous to Xray crystallography, but nevertheless exact chemical-composition ratios and "nucleation+growth" behavior are seen. I suppose your sort of lego is one possible explanation of that. (PS. How'd you make the cool graphics?) -- Warren D. Hey George Hart, that AP Goucher "lego" is talking to you! It is saying "print me on your 3D printer!" I can hear it! -- Warren D. Smith http://RangeVoting.org <-- add your endorsement (by clicking "endorse" as 1st step)
Adam, If you want some for a demonstration or something, I should be able to easily 3D print some for you. Let me know. But I must say that the SCD design seems to me to convey the same ideas while being so much simpler and pleasantly convex. George http://georgehart.com/ P.S. My latest Simons Foundation video is about math and music: https://www.simonsfoundation.org/multimedia/mathematical-impressions-making-... On 8/23/2013 4:39 PM, Warren D Smith wrote:
