Go West, young man! Calgary's winters have been much milder these last two decades than they were 35 years ago. R. On Mon, 19 Jan 2004 MCKAY@vax2.concordia.ca wrote:

I am not denying that there may be a warming trend, nor that the recent increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide is caused by increased burning of fossil fuels. I am saying there is no evidence that human activity is responsible for climate change. When I read in the news that the weather is as warm as it has ever been in the last 1000 years, I ask why was it so warm 1000 years ago. Maybe it is warm today for the same reason. Ten thousand years ago glaciers covered much of Canada and the U.S. So surely there has been a warming trend over that time period, and it all preceeded industrial development. Is there any scientific evidence for more extreme weather in recent times that tracks the increase in carbon dioxide? Gene __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
