[math-fun] fusible numbers

I knew about the shoelace-timer problem, but I didn't know about fusible numbers. Very cool. But: There seems to be some controversy about their properties (see http://arxiv.org/abs/1202.5614). Can anyone tell me what the current situation is? Jim Propp
