All kinds of spaceships with outrageous spatiotemporal periods were discovered that way, as well as (if I remember correctly) some signal-manipulation equipment for signals traveling on lightspeed pipes. =========================================================== Part of this long history involved using de Bruijn diagrams. -hvm
