I found Dan Klain and Gian-Carlo Rota's "Introduction to Geometric Probability" extremely compelling; after I bought it at the Joint Winter Meetings one year, I devoured the whole book in a single sitting (actually, I think I was sitting from 10pm to midnight and lying down from midnight to 2am). I kept thinking "I'm giving a talk tomorrow, I should really stop reading and get some sleep", but I couldn't put it down!
