IIRC I did (re-)create this by some complex numeration system. No curve of the form I have searched for exists that generates this tile. Indeed: http://jjj.de/tmp-rwg/r07-1-tile-minus.png In the top part "rx" gives the radix, and "dg" the set of digits.
I think there's yet another one which is "all boundary", as suggested by this booboo: gosper.org/oops.png
This looks like a numeration system with radix 49, I am not going to try ...
