[math-fun] Grad school question

I have a student who just completed a Master's degree and hopes to start a Ph.D. in mathematics in fall 2018. He is interested in cryptography and we were wondering about mathematics departments that have cryptographic research groups. As far as I can tell the great majority of crypto research, even the very theoretical work, is done in CS departments. Any suggestions? -Mike Collins
