There's another formula that's exact and avoids the integer part function [] f_n = (phi^n - (-phi)^{-n})/sqrt(5) It seems like it would be easier to prove things about the circle product if you could find a similar expression.
I guess at this point you haven't ploughed through any of my last posting, which (I hope) proves the x o y conjecture, starting from just this formula. WFL
