I'm pretty sure I started math-fun, as a Symbolics-internal mailing list, sometime in the early 80's. I remember having a discussion with some manager about whether it would be OK to open it to outside subscribers. Somebody else managed it for a little while between my tenure and Rich's. PS, Thanks to Jason for pointing out that someone named redmartian has YouTubed my Vintage Computer Festival talk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpgA2oCQj9o (et 5 seq) (audio is marginal--nil at the end.)
I only fired this up out of curiosity to see what the legendary RWG actually looks like --- and when I next looked up, an hour-and-a half had disappeared down the youtube. Very dangerous stuff! WFL
