It's too bad that the Wikipedia editors are such jerks; these would be good points to add to the article on Rope.
I have been told they are anti-proof and only want material that is supported by citations. Aside: I wonder if (some) citations have to be non-wikipedia; Perhaps you could sneak in a proof by embedding it in a pttern of articles.

There are sheathed ropes with parallel strands and some of them are natural, e.g., silk parachute cord. I think the theorem would have to say that you can get away with shorter strands if you spin the strands.

Are you sure of this. The anti-marijuana act dates from the thirties and I am sure there was lots of hemp rope in my youth in the forties and fifties. I thought is was just superseded by more cost-effective materials. Whit
