Hey... a reviewer friend just played me a quick snippet of each album track down the phone. Hard to make out the full picture of course, but from what I heard, I thought it sounded great! However, it is very definitely a conceptual album, with much of it playing as one continuous piece, so in some ways there were no big surprises I'm afraid. It's much more minimal and open sounding than, say, Version 2 used for the single. There were lots of little melodic motifs though no full blown songs as such, apart from the reworking of the original TDF which did indeed sound like the live version. I'd say the best point of reference for the album as a whole would be the more minimal parts of Versions 1 and 3. In terms of sounds, there was a strong sonic link between all the tracks, adding to a continuity of mood, though I must say that some of the new pieces sounded more interesting and a bit more out there than those single tracks. However, there were NO new tracks with any full lyrics, just the odd vocoder/robovox part intoning the title - I guess this is certainly not a collection of new KW "songs"! I can also confirm that NONE of newer tracks played live (Tribal, Tango etc) are on the CD. Wait for the next album for those! :-) Hard to judge on such a compromised listen, but if I had to pick a standout it would be "Elektro Kardiogramm"... with sinister computer vox intoning the title over a very LFO/Warp beat. There's one question suggesting itself to me: If the new material is authentic and already circulating around, why has the album release been postponed for several times? What are they waiting for? Jan
