Of interest to y'all maybe and I'm quoting from a review of an album in Mixmag (UK dance magazine) by Arpanet called Wireless Internet. Album opens with a lengthy vocodered musing on the subject of web-connected mobile phones then a dark sexy blend of analogue synth throb, bass shudders and textured drumtics. Originates in Detroits's Dataphysix studios, the home of kinky Kraftwerk clones, Dopplereffekt who also record as Japanese Telecom (rumoured to be part of Underground Resistance affiliates Drexciya). Older technoheads can appreciate the album as Kraftwerk without the cables (?) - 'Wireless Internet' is almost a re-run of the German pioneers classic, 'Computerworld'. Intriguing and superbly listenable. Which all goes to prove that it's more fun to confuse. Wireless Internet by ARPANET (Record Makers/Virgin) released April 22nd. Shaun The new "We are all made of stars" Moby video, reminds me a lot to the song "Hall of mirrors" and in some weird way to "15 minutes of fame". Enrique
On the same note, I'd like to recommend Anthony Rother's "Simulationszeitalter" to everyone who hasn't heard it. It is a brilliant album steeped in the Kraftwerk spirit but yet quite modern sounding. It sounds like what, in my opinion, Kraftwerk ought to sound like if they released anything new today. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shaun Vaughan" <shaun@x1.ltd.uk> To: <kraftwerk@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 01, 2002 11:33 AM Subject: [Kraftwerk] RE: Arpanet Album

... while dopplereffekt sounds a lot like drexciya !!! *hehehe* ;-)))
(With the risk of getting shouted at for being constantly off topic today:) I suppose you're referring to the rumour that Dopplereffekt and Drexciya are the same people but I find that difficult to believe. I reckon Drexciya's got a completely different sound to Dopplereffekt. DE are much more dry and clinical whereas Drexciya's sound is quite dirty/distorted and a bit quirkier. Erik

no , they are NOT_ALL the same people !!! *slyest_grin* ;-)))
I reckon Drexciya's got a completely different sound to Dopplereffekt.
completely diff'rent ??? :-o nah ... not really , jus' a bit varyin' from each other , because otherwise it wouldn't make much sense to have two diff'rent projects with one & the same sound , wouldn't it ??? *sly_grin* ;-)

yep , that's indeed a good description , erik !!! ;-) however ... many greetinx , oh jay ;-) *~\^/~*
