Yamo & my twopennies' worth
I really like this record, I like it as a statement or an idea as much as I like it for the music (if you forgive my being pompous about it;) F'instance, I find the intro to AWomanAMan abit too intimate, embarrassing even... but I like the idea that he made the music so personal, so true to his own mind... In fact, it's abit like the debate he joined in here last month (or so) - very personal, very open, even naïvely so. It's a bit strange, how his record and book together give me the impression that I know the man (we've never met). The Mouse On Mars comparison that someone made stands to reason; they actually co-wrote and produced the music. (Try MoMs track 'Stereomission', f'instance) IIRC, MoM disowned it upon release, which I think was totally unnecessary - the record is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Wonder what was going on back then - seems like they fell out towards the end? Does anyone know more about this? Oystein
