It missed the Top 200. SoundScan says 3,497 albums sold through the week ending 8/24. (By the way, they also report 2,348 singles sold.) Apparently they DID sell better in their geographical "Pacific" reason, ranking #174 - whatever THAT means. (Disclaimer: I know nothing about SoundScan) Thanks, CRZ On Thu, 28 Aug 2003, Edimes Cagliari wrote:

Figures from S.undSc@n (so please keep it on the down low - no, you can't access them from the Web, don't ask me again - also, I altered the name so any Web-archived copies of this message won't get hit by search engines) Through week ending 31.8: Tour de France Soundtracks: 5602 (+ 2105) Tour de France 03 single: 2599 (+ 251) I am told that there is also an entry for "Tour De France 03" as a "vinyl LP" and that sales of 2 (!) have been recorded. Supposedly Astralwerks. I can only tell you what I'm told. Obviously, nowhere near the Top 200. Just for grins and trivia, the #200 album this week - Josh Kelley's "For the Ride Home," which makes this probably the first (and last) time he's ever been mentioned on the Kraftwerk list ;-) - registered sales of 5747 copies. We'll see where/if Billboard places them in the Electronic 10 ( http://billboard.com/bb/charts/electronic.jsp ) later today? Believe it or not, "Tour de France 03" *is* on their singles chart... at #134. It peaked at #97 two weeks ago; I guess it's true that nobody in America buys singles anymore. :) 251 copies sold is *also* apparently good enough to get them #20 on the "Top Dance Singles" chart.
