Me too, I thought the translation into English of the published version was rather bland. I much preferred WF's own self-translation he did with the sample chapters he sent me, because although the English wasn't "perfekt", it was somehow better sounding -- for example in the same way Holger Czuckay's spoken English hasn't a perfect accent but is still wonderfully expressive.
