Re: [kraftwerk] Krautrock
Krautrock was term that was coined by an english music editor to describe the music coming out of germany during the early 70's -- the same way the term electronica came into use, coined by an american to categorize the many different styles of electronic music I preferrer to refer to the actual style when discussing the type of music i'm writing about. I think Organisation is fantastic the music I believe is called experimental prog-rock what makes this recording unique (for kraftwerk) is its free form improvisation and very strong late 60's influences, It has a lot of unusual instruments I would like learn more about.

Let's not split hairs about terms. But in the context with Organisation I used the term "Krautrock" quite consciously. You know Amon Duul from Munich? Their first album (self-titled, re-issued as "Psychedelic Underground", "This is Amon Duul" and "Minnelied"), recorded 1968 and released 1969, contained as track 3 the song "Mama Düül und ihre Sauerkrautband spielt auf". That's were the term "Krautrock" comes from. jan -- feel free to visit http://www.jan-reetze.de email: dasfestistzuendeaus@yahoo.de _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
