Re: Stiff audience? (was: [Kraftwerk] Intro/outro)
[sorry about bad quotation, this is sent from a quirky webmail client] It's not so much that I don't like the tracks. Autobahn is by far the world's greatest reggae-beat ever. I just think that they, in absense of new material, should bring forth more of the old classics in stead. For a bit of variety. I don't mind romantic influences. There are at least two or three amazing tracks on the rest of the TEE album that would lend themselves great to doing new and updated versions. / petter -----Original Message----- From: kraftwerk@gmx.net To: kraftwerk@mailman.xmission.com Date: Thu, 10 Oct 2002 04:41:40 +0200 (MEST) Subject: Re: Re: Stiff audience? I really wish they would stop playing that song. It doesn't fit into the co ncept. While at it, they could trash Neonlights as well. Blimey, why not do away with Autobahn and TEE too. (oh boy, am I going to be flamed on th is one)
FLAME-Mode: You just crushed all my favorite songs (well, autobahn is not one of my favorites), at least you didn't mention Radiaktivität. Now you have started a new flame war ;-). I believe TEE is a song with many romantic influences and that is once of the important facts about Kraftwerk for me. Romantic influences in the songs (as Wolfgang also mentions). -------------- That would be the whole album Exodus by Bob Marley; Time magazine's album of the century. There's *absolutely nothing* reggae-like about Autobahn, unless the dope is really kickin'! It would have to be some REALLY GOOD SHIT! :-) amir
This'll probably start another flame-war, but here goes anyway:
Autobahn is by far the world's greatest reggae-beat ever.
"Autobahn"'s not reggae by ANY stretch of the imagination, and it's not a "riddim" anway--are there a million versions by different artists over the exact same backing track? The craziest riddim right now is "G-String," for real. Look at Greensleeves's riddim album series, VP Records's "Riddim Driven" series or http://www.jamrid.com if you don't know what I'm talkin' 'bout.

I'll take ANYTHING by Elephant Man or Bounty Killer instead of ol' Bob. Peace.

In the USA, there's a new tv commercial for the processor half of the Wintel Conspiracy that features this bangin' house joint with a classic blues riff. Can anyone tell me what song that is???? It was also used in the mud-wrestling sequence of the "Malcolm in the Middle" episode with Susan Sarandon. I appreciate it, folks. Peace.

I don't know if this is it, but it was used in that episode of "Malcolm and the Middle" The song is called "Let it Ride" by J. Ralph (Could also have the artist name 'Spy' because he changed it) I dunno if thats the song, and plus the song is unreleased, and I could never find it anywhere, as I am a fan of this guy's music... I cant find any information online to confirm that it is even this song! Hope that helps (Somewhat...) ________________________ omegaChance http://www.omegaChance.tk

It's a house record--not a rock record--sounds like a Basement Boys production--Jasper Street Company, perhaps? Very gospel/blues sounding with that 4-on-the-floor beat. It was during the mud-wrestling sequence, when she and Jane Kazmarek were goin' at it in the mud--are we talking about the same song? Thanks. Peace.

I really couldnt tell you, I was stupid enough to miss that part when I was watching random Malcolm episodes when I was looking for the song, and I later found out that was the episode...Hard to tell, J. Ralph's music is really diverse on his record. __________________ omegaChance http://www.omegaChance.tk

Yeah, I know, it just doesnt have the song in question on it, if that would be it anyway! Sorry, I tried. Disregard the earlier email, I really should read all my mail before sending. ________________________ omegaChance http://www.omegaChance.tk

If ol' Bob's music was as interesting (we like hooky 1- or 2-note songs with nice, loud drum machines!) as today's hardcore riddims, we'd give props where they're due! Peace.
Sounds, uh, dope. Peace amir MuzikJunky wrote:
