RE: [Kraftwerk] Klingklang merchandise
Actually, they are probably drinking tea. I read an interview with David Bowie, and he talked about meeting Kraftwerk and how they appeared to be obsessed with taking him to these different places to drink tea. Maybe if they switched to high-octane coffee we could get a new album from them, no? Kraftwerk are "Musik-Arbeiter" as Ralf Huetter always explains. They work maybe 8 hours every day in their Kling-Klang Studio, working on new sounds, remixing the "old stuff", re-programming their robots, drinking coffee.
I think they actually just sit there throwing paper areoplanes at each other, but you are right about the coffee. I think David Bowie was into other stimulants than coffee or tea in those days? Perhaps Hutter&Schneider were taking Bowie for a ride, laughing their socks off later. This probably inspired the "V2 Schneider" track as a revenge.
