I don't have favorites per say, although I do have a tendency to pick for my drives (where I listen to music the most) the chill of Thievery Corporation and Tosca or the upbeat and sensual (big word, to me sexy and music go hand in hand) of Sasha & Digweed, Gus Gus and Orbital over the cerebral and cold of Aphex Twin, King Crimson or David Sylvian (well, he might be cerebral, but not as cold). Classics like RStones, Zeppelin, PFloyd, Bowie, Genesis, etc. just sit collecting dust in my 800 plus CD collection. Right, this is a Kraftwerk list. I listen to them too. Computer World and Electric Cafe being the most played by far. I might be wrong, but I think those two are their warmest records, where machines really proved to be human. IMHO, TMM & TEE only had one warm track each, Neon Lights (you could also include Spacelab) and Europe Endless respectively; the rest was, just too mechanic and cold (not that it's anything wrong with that). Anyway, I wrote the following lists hoping to give you guys an idea on where I stand on personal musical preferences today: Latest CD's I've picked from an online store: (I listen to them quite frequently, mainly because they are new) John Digweed MMII Dirty Vegas DV Gotan Project La Revancha del Tango Dave Seaman GU, Melbourne CD's I've picked today for my drive to and from work: (I pick different CD's every day, depending on the mood, weather, stock market and other silly factors like that) Autechre Incunabula & Amber Monolake Cinemascope CD's I've probably listen to the most so far this year: Thievery Corporation The Mirror Conspiracy Tosca Suzuki in Dub Deep Dish GU, Moskow Records that influenced (as Oh Jay would say) my musical taste forever (I was 12 back in '78): Jean Michel Jarre Equinoxe Alan Parsons Project Pyramid Giorgio Moroder FHTE Kraftwerk TMM Peter Gabriel III E
