Sorry, but I really was *rolling on the floor laughing* when I read the interview. Does Ralf seriously believe what he is saying? The best one really is "We have always believed that machines have a soul, and that has a lot to do with Soul and black music." -> This is my translation of the beginning of the second to last answer of Ralf. In the translation by Reiner Röbich the wordplay with "soul" does not come through. Who would really take something like this serious? Sometimes when I read Kraftwerk interviews I think that they just play with the crazy fans the same way as "they play the machines and the machines play them". Sorry, but even though I like the music of Kraftwerk, I can not read an interview without thing "they are a little crazy". Just my opinion for which I might get flamed on this list. :-) Greetz, Jan

*rotflol* me too but for an opposite reason... *hehe* It seems Ralf really likes to "annoy" journalists... then he is sometimes a little bit *second degré* and I really enjoy that :-) (and that's why still the same "irritated and ironic reactions" from fans who are too much *premier degré* make me *lol* too) ! :-)

Right! ;-) from my own experience on programming/creating sounds on synthesizers, I may confirm: machines do have a "soul" (especially the analog kind), mate! IF you're not a well trained synth programmer/user, *sure*: you CAN'T understand !!! >;-)))))))) Maybe, perhaps, _ /o o\ Filtre4Pole \ ~ / I I - -
